SHINER GROUP ACQUIRES SHOPS OF HEATHERFIELD

Glenview, Illinois – The Shiner Group successfully acquires the Shops at Heatherfield—a Jewel and Panera Bread anchored shopping center in Glenview, IL.

The Shiner Group continues to grow its footprint in the Chicagoland area by acquiring the grocery anchored center in one of the most desirable retail corridors in the North Shore. With Shops of Heatherfield in its portfolio, the firm currently owns 20 properties in the Chicago area making up 900,000 square feet of real estate. The company continues to be bullish on Chicago and its suburbs, and plans to actively seek to expand its presence in the region.

The Shiner Group is also thrilled to continue its successful partnership with Jewel-Osco. In its 40-year history, the firm has developed 5 Jewel-Osco anchored shopping centers, and with this acquisition—the company owns 2 additional projects with Jewel as a tenant. With the center’s central location and recent market growth, Jewel and the investment group are aligned in their desire to invest in the store to improve customer experience. The ownership seeks to make the Jewel at the Shops of Heatherfield the preeminent destination for many of the residents of Glenview, Northfield, Northbrook, Wilmette, Winnetka, and beyond.

This acquisition is part of a broader strategy of owning grocer anchored centers in affluent communities, joining the recent acquisition of Parkway Pointe, a Food Lion anchored center in Cary, North Carolina.
